Today's Dream: A nomination!

Last week I was nominated by the beautiful Ashley Paprock of Dashes of Ash for this Liebster Award! So I’m sure your first question is what is a Liebster Award? Well it is an award that it given to bloggers by bloggers! It’s an online award that works similar to a chain letter and encourages networking with new bloggers! I am so honored to accept this and I am eager to answer the questions Ashley has asked me to answer! Here are 11 things she wanted to know:

1. why did you start your blog?

I started blogging because after listening to lots of friends and teachers tell me I would not only enjoy it but also thrive doing it, I decided to follow through. It was kick started when a friend approached me saying that she would take my pictures if I wanted to start a blog! With that being my main concern with starting a blog taken care of, thus The Darling Dreamer was born!

2. what was the inspiration behind the title of your blog?

I tried my best to think of adjectives that thoroughly described myself. I made a list of ones that I thought of and added things that people often call me. I tend to day dream a lot about the future, people, clothes, and various activities in my spare time and I also love Disney, so that is how I came up with “Dreamer.” My style is classic and with that people often describe certain things I wear as “Darling” so I decided that “The Darling Dreamer” was cute! After running it by a few friends and family it stuck!

3. if you could pick one celebrity’s closet to raid, who would it be & why?

Anna Kendrick. She knows how to dress herself so well and every time I see her in Kate Spade I drool. If I had the means to live in Kate Spade every day, I would! He style is timeless and not main stream, she stays true to herself and always looks glamorous!

4. if you could drop everything & travel anywhere in the world where would it be?

London, I’ve always wanted to go to London. I very much enjoy English history, find the architecture fascinating, and the culture divine. I basically have the trip planned, all I need is a traveling buddy and funding. So who would like to make a charitable donation to The Darling Dreamer travel fund?!

5. dog lover or cat lady?

Dog lover. Although my family just welcomed a new kitty, Mr. Edgar Allen Bone!

6. where do you go when you need to stop & think?

My backyard. The cool air and breeze are relaxing and no one goes out there to disturb me, except my two dogs but it is so peaceful out there.

7. what is the one thing you can’t live without?

I cannot, under any circumstances, live without lipstick. I feel naked if I don’t wear it. Lipstick makes the outfit and defines my attitude when I leave the house!

8. if i gave you $500 how would you spend it?

I’d put it towards a down payment on some Prada shoes….but realistically? I would put it towards some trips I’d like to make this year!

9. what is your all time favorite movie?

My Fair Lady is always my go-to favorite. I’m a huge fan of musicals and just happen to adore Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison (but who doesn’t adore them?) together on screen. It is pure magic!

10. do you like sweet or salty snacks?

I definitely have a major sweet tooth. I will always say yes to a cookie or any sort of candy!

11. what is your favorite part of blogging?

I absolutely love getting to know other women in this industry! There are so many inspiring, talented, encouraging, and sweet ladies who blog that constantly challenge me to be more creative and persistent about what I am passionate about! We all have so much to share with our followers and community that blogging is the perfect platform to demonstrate those ideas and support smaller businesses!
