Today’s Dream: The Story Of My Little Sister Getting Engaged!!

I know, can you believe it?! Could they be any more adorable? Yes, yes they can be. Let me show you how they got here.

This is their long story short….our parents were friends with Daniel’s parents long before we existed. My parents attended Calvary Community Church which his parents started and they quickly became close friends. Fast forward to his two sisters (Emily and Ellie) and us all growing up in the church for our whole lives (we have baby pictures to prove the adorableness) and becoming the very best of friends. Fast forward again to Daniel and Micaela starting their official relationship about five months ago. He popped the question on January 5th 2016 in Disneyland!

Now I will tell you how the engagement happened…

My sister and I traveled to Disneyland on January 4th to visit our favorite cast members at Aladdin A Musical Spectacular before the closing day on January 10th. It was already going to be an emotional ride for the two of us because it was our last sisters only trip as Bone girls and it would be the last time we would ever see that marvelous show. So all of the feels were there and accounted for. The first day we got there we played in Disneyland so that we could save all of the next day devoted to the Aladdin show (side note: the new Star Wars add ons are AMAZING).

The following day (January 5th) I was a nervous wreck basically all morning because I knew the engagement was going down in just a few hours! Thanks to our very special friend Paige, who is the Magic Carpet in the show, made plans for us to have a meet and greet after the first show and Micaela was so excited (p.s. she picked up on a few details but convinced herself that Daniel would not be proposing that day because “he was in Arizona”….)! I could barely pay attention to the show because I knew what was coming even though it was Paige’s last Magic Carpet show and Melissa’s last Jasmine show, I was completely distracted.

So it finally ended and we made our way to the lobby with at least six other huge groups of people… the largest meet and greet they had ever had to date (of course). Now normally during a meet and greet only the lead characters and whomever you came to see come out from back stage, but for this one EVERYONE came out even if they weren’t in that show they were there. I was so nervous because they all kept staring at my sister because of course they knew. Then it was our turn to get a picture with the cast and Paige ran to “go get her camera” back stage but came out with Daniel instead!

Micaela instantly started sobbing! We nailed the surprise factor. Not one person who was there, who wasn't a cast member, knew what was going on until after his speech to her when he got down on one knee. Well then it all came together and many joyful tears were had and it was thoroughly documented as you can see by all of the pictures and video!

We spent the rest of the afternoon high on endorphins and joy and now begins the journey to the alter! I can happily report that she has already found her dress and is shooting for an August wedding date! I am so thrilled for these two, I can’t wait to stand next to her and hold her bouquet of flowers while she takes her vows.
